The dress code for JMJ Dance classes covers apparel and shoes. Please remember that no street shoes are allowed in the studios.

Apparel

  • No leotards are required for any class, but it's fine to wear them.

  • All classes require comfortable and easy-to-move-in clothing (NO jeans or skirts). Dance pants or stretchy pants are preferred (sweat pants or warm-up pants are fine too). Tee shirts or other comfortable tops are fine.

Shoes

  • Hip Hop classes – sneakers are fine to dance in, but it has to be a pair of sneakers brought in to change once in the studio — no street shoes are allowed in the studios. Sneakers cannot be worn to the studio and then used for dancing.

  • Jazz classes – jazz shoes are required.

  • Tap classes – tap shoes are required.

  • Musical theater classes – jazz shoes are preferred, but light sneakers are fine.
